1991 Fleer Ultra

Not to be outdone by Leaf and their 5th color PMS Metallic inks, Fleer decided to come out with their own version too!!! They even called it Ultra, which means it's like, way cool, or something. Truth be told, these aren't that bad looking. A little on the drab side, but otherwise ok. Lots of great action shots anyway.

The 1991 Fleer Ultra Detroit Tigers:
120 Dave Bergman
121 Cecil Fielder
122 Travis Fryman
123 Mike Henneman
124 Lloyd Moseby
125 Dan Petry
126 Tony Phillips
127 Mark Salas
128 Frank Tanana
129 Alan Trammell
130 Lou Whitaker
392 Cecil Fielder Great Performances

They even released an Update set, which would be very cool if two of the three Tigers in it we didn't already have and were everyday players to begin with.....

22U Milt Cuyler
23U Paul Gibson
24U Mickey Tettleton

I don't have any of the Update cards, so I'll just put up a card of My Friend Mark Salas.

That's 8 position players and 3 pitchers...I guess they thought we could just stick Dave Bergman in the last outfield slot...and did they really think the starting catcher was Mark friggin' Salas?? In a batting practice jersey, no less??

Card #392 is also Cecil Fielder.

Thanks Jon. This is one of the occupational hazards of doing this with beer. I'm looking at that card of Cecil and I forgot to list it. I am editing the checklist now.
